Show more. Small Luxury Hotel Goldgasse. From the moment we arrived it was clear this was going to be a wonderful stay. The lovely lady who greets you is just charming, kind and instantly makes you feel like you are staying with a friend. Our room was beautifully designed without being cold or sterile feeling as can sometimes be the case – it was spacious yet cosy, spotlessly clean, and with a wonderful bed. Dinner that evening was super – the food was perfect, the atmosphere charming, the staff again so professional and so sweet.
And to top of our stay, breakfast today was again a delight. Our incredible house mother joined by a wonderful waitress who continued the theme of a hotel staffed by people with warmth and character. The food was delicious. This is an absolute gem of a hotel – made extra special by the wonderful team who work here.

Hotel Garni Frauenschuh. I really wanted to like this hotel, but ultimately left with a sour experience. The first two days our experience was excellent. The staff was wonderful and accommodating.
The first day we went to the front desk and ordered a pizza. The staff member on duty asked if we wanted it served in the room or in the restaurant. We said the room and she kindly delivered it to the room.
The third night we arrived back at the hotel after a long day of sightseeing around 9pm. As the hotel is located in a residential neighborhood there was nothing around other than the restaurant at the hotel. We asked the front desk if we could order a pizza please note this is the only thing they serve at night , and the staff member on duty coldly told us NO and then said they were not a pizza restaurant.
She said the restaurant closed at 9, but then during the same conversation told us the restaurant closed at After asking if there was anything we could get at that late hour she made us a pizza but was very annoyed about it. Further, and this what really disappointed us, she told us we were not allowed to take the pizza to the room as eating in the room was not allowed even though there is a mini bar and snacks in the room , and we were also not allowed to eat in the restaurant, so we had to eat the pizza in the hallway of the hotel.
It was embarrassing and humiliating. Real shame as we were enjoying our stay but this really made us feel unwelcome. Goldenes Theater Hotel Salzburg. ZIYE 4. The environment is very good, the hotel has its own large garden, and the two apple trees are fruitful see photo. Hotel facilities are also good, not far from the train station. Rooms and hotel is really clean and well cared for though the room amenities are more 3 than 4 star, staff very friendly and helpful.
But it is mostly a Seminar hotel and not mainly for tourists so thats ok. Though there are tourists as well as there is a big parking lot, quiet location and a bus stop opposite with a direct bus right into the center of the city.
In my opinion the best thing is the breakfast with a big selection of everything. Hotel Jedermann. Not even sure I read reviews for this hotel. I think I booked it with Chase points. The outside of the hotel looks rather nondescript but the inside is beautifully appointed. It looks like an old building that has been renovated on the inside. Rooms are very modern, well lit, and comfortable. We got to peek into some of the other rooms while they were being cleaned and they look amazing!
Very nice furniture pieces. Common areas hold the best of the building’s older features bonus points for the awesome grandfather clock by the front desk. I asked for a quiet room, but got one facing the street. Behind the street is a some meter mountain wall, amplyfing all noise from the street and the church – which is next door – and which starts it’s bells at 7 in the morning. Room got incredibly warm heat wave – and only one fan is provided, no air-con.
I had to open the window during the night, waking every 10 minutes from drunken shouting outside. I needed help with understanding the information on my concert ticket. It was in German, and highly detailed Covid- regulations – I asked one of the staff to translate a few bits for me.
I am working on my German, but you partner with the festival, and it would be very helpful if you knew just a little bit more English! This can all be tossed aside, but this can’t: Since there is no breakfast, guest are invited to go to the sister hotel, Hotel Stein, down the street. I popped by in the evening to have a look at the venue roof-top restaurant , it was so crowded, you couldn’t move around. I’m sure it’s disinfected to some extent after it closes and before it opens, and I’m not hysterical about the pandemic, but there were no covid-measures, people standing around, no masks, no distance, nothing.
It just felt so very irresponsible. On the bright side, there is a pretty little patio in the back, and the church yard behind the hotel, where Mozart’s family’s graves are, is a tranquile and very beautiful space.
Hotel Markus Sittikus Salzburg. The location is excellent, the Mirabell Garden is nearby, and the bus to the Lake District is also very convenient nearby. There is also a Chinese food buffet to eat three times during the stay. The Chinese stomach is satisfied. The hotel room is small but beautifully furnished.
